Are there specific things to know about caring for a French Bulldog?

Adopting a Frenchie is a rewarding experience. Here are some valuable insights on how to best care for your royal companion.

  • Frenchie puppies love to chew on anything within reach. Puppy-proof your castle before adoption day to help your pup avoid temptation.

  • We know you will be excited to show off your new family member. Still, it’s best to wait until your Frenchie has had all the appropriate vaccinations before visiting outside areas.

  • Joining a new family can be stressful for a puppy. We strongly recommend crate training. Your Frenchie will see the crate as a place of comfort and safety if they feel overwhelmed.

  • Don’t let your puppy jump from high places. This causes stress and can damage their joints.

  • Frenchies love admiration. Let them know when they have done something good by showering them with affection.

  • Be aware of plants, food, and other items that may be tempting for your puppy to eat. These can be harmful in a variety of ways.

  • Avoid exposing your French bulldog to extreme heat or cold and extended or strenuous activity. Situations like these can cause severe health concerns for them.

  • Frenchies cannot swim. If you plan to be near the water, keep them safe by putting them in a proper life jacket.
